Not Sure but they're service is Terrible, heard several stories about how their young employees are treated and "Paid"
The food was really good.
Awesome service. Very attentive staff. Wonderful food.
Food is good. Nice downtown location. Improved parking. Looks like they are going to put a outside patio which will be nice. The oil dip for the bread could be flavored up some. Overall a good alternative.
Great food, great service. I recommend the garlic rolls and anything with their alfredo sauce.
The food was very good. Our server was also very good. Sorry I don't remember his name but I do remember that he was 19 and 6'3" tall. Looking forward to coming back.
I was in town for work and everyone told me to check this place out. I’m glad I did! The first sign that this was a good place was the massive brick oven you see when you walk in. The pizza had some amazing flavor. I also loved that the place smelled like burning wood. The only think I would have done differently was ordered my pizza extra crispy. It would have used a little bit more heat. Overall it was a great experience and I will be back whenever I’m in town again.
The food is absolutely amazing.......and that’s about the only aspect this business does right. The waiters are extremely rude and unfriendly. The wait for drinks are in excess of 25 min per refill. We waited over and hour and half for our food which was barely warm time it came out. If you can tolerate poor service, rude waiters and extremely long waits this is the place for you. I strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere.
Great food & service. Comfortable atmosphere.
Delicious as always! I put Sals up against any Italian restaurant in Indiana.
We waited forever to be seated even though the restaurant was mostly empty. We waited for 20 minutes just to place our order. Then we waited for an hour and 15 minutes to get our food. The SOUP WAS DISGUSTING. The Alfredo sauce was seriously bland and tasted like it was just butter. The bread was tasteless. The spaghetti tasted like it came straight from a can. And it was crazy expensive! I will NEVER go there ever again!!! Serious waste of time and money. Fazolis is way better!
Our favorite place for Italian food! Service is great, and the food just doesn't get any better!!
Great food, great service, great prices. Very pleased. We will be back.
Amazing atmosphere and staff! Such a beautiful location as well! The lasagna was quite good and the spaghetti was good just slightly less seasoned than I would've preferred! Definitely worth the visit!
Great calzones and pizzas!
Great atmosphere, attentive service and delicious food. Extensive menu for a local place. Worth the drive!
Family outing with my granddaughter that’s in town. Good atmosphere with good lighting and music is awesome. Our waitress was very friendly and spot on. Now on to the food. Didn’t like the bread much, almost tasted like it was stale and the oil to dip it in was bland. The Italian dressing for the salad tasted watered down. The bread sticks and cheese was good. The Fettuccine Alfredo was very tasted along with the wood fire oven pizza. All in all a pretty decent meal for a party of 10.
The food is always amazing. The staff is friendly. A wonderful place for a nice lunch or dinner.
Nice interior, great lighting, but that's as jazzed as I can get about this place. The sauce lacked flavor, the warm bread to the table tasted like a very plain white bread and the oil poured onto the plate to dip your bread into was also flavorless. The cheese on my meat lasagna was a slice of cheese that was barely melted that belonged on a sub sandwich. However, the eggplant and mozzarella sticks were fried very lightly and not greasy at all, which was nice. Our server told us that the ravioli isn't made fresh, it was just frozen packaged stuff, so the ravioli sampler was off our list for trying out, bummer. It didn't say authentic anywhere (that I remember seeing) so set your standards accordingly before you eat here. Really awesome brick oven too, so if I ever came back, I'd just try a pizza 🍕.
Very good place with great service. Actual Italian pizza where the dough is the dish and everything else is there for flavoring.
I simply enjoyed their food. I always get great customer service here. The place is well kept and the employees are always kind. Will come back again.
The Owner sent us in. We let the staff know and they said they had no clue. Had it not been such an ordeal. Kara was extremely rude. We had to show ID and damn near our birth certificate. They had no number to reach Sal by. They took our drivers license number! Won't be back. Very embarrassing.
Last time for me. I have tried to figure out why I am not pleased with Sal's. Carryout order is always missing something and the pizza is way to doughy. More dough than ingedients. Not impressed at all. Your regulars are all that are keeping the Plainfield store in business.
It is a beautiful restaurant to eat at especially in good weather when you can eat on the patio. Food is also very good.
Good and great food. Truly authentic Italian food. Highly recommended.
Love the atmosphere here, the outside patio is beautiful and relaxing. I still eat here, with my kids or on a date. The price is reasonable, the food is delicious. The restrooms are clean, the staff is friendly.
Pretty tasty for authentic Italian. Our waiter, Austin, very friendly and professional! Cold beer! Outdoor garden a plus for adults.
Their food is phenomenal. They're busy often but completely worth the wait. The pizza is fantastic!
Incredible pizza. I can't wait to try the entire menu! Wonderful service as well.
The wood fire pizza is great. The service is terrible. We went in at 8:30pm. There were only 4 other tables with people at them. Half of the other tables were dirty & covered with plates and food. We sat for at least 10+ minutes before our waitress came to ask about drinks. When she did finally come to our table she had a mouth full of good & stood their chewing before she took our drink & food order. Our appetizer showed up before our drinks. We didn’t even have water. We finally got our drinks right before the pizza came out. The pizza was fantastic. To bad the service wasn’t.
Amazing pizza and good drinks. We ordered eggplant, seafood ravioli, and Sals favorite pizza. Bloody marys were excellent.
Excellent Pizza! If you’re looking for NY Style pizza this is the place for you. Best in the area by far!!
Great Italian restaurant. Best in the area.
How is this place still in business? I will never visit again. Bad food, even worse service. If you are thinking of eating here have someone slap you then go make a sandwich that will be a way better experience.
Really enjoyed the food, the mood, and the service
I love the good food but I had to keep asking for the oil and bread and 6 ravioli for 13.50 is ridiculous.
The Margarita pizza is the stuff dreams are made of. We still aren't sure which is better, the crust or the toppings. I silently watched my table debate while I polished off the pizza.
It was very yummy!!
So I have no clue why anyone would have any reason other than to give this place 5 stars. The food is the closest I’ve tasted to east coast Italian (authentic ), as possible which is where I come from.As for the rest of you cry babies ,spend your $ at Olive Garden where you obviously belong!Food was amazing , huge portions , ! What restaurant can make a simple ceasar salad taste delicious? Sals.Had the scampi fritti as appetizer followed by veal parmesan. 1st time I’ve found veal in Hendricks County , seriously ! And the cannolis ? Actually made correctly with marscapone rather than what some of these midwestern folk are accustomed to.Great job Sal, and by the way, your long island iced tea puts Olive Garden and BJs to shame ! Will be back and plan on sitting outside when it’s a little cooler.
Nice place. Friendly staff. Little dark, but otherwise clean. Awesome food!
Fast service, and they can intelligently talk about the wine list. The salmon was ta-die-for. Best Italian in all of the Indianapolis area. SO worth it.
Food was very good. Service was good also. The new patio was beautiful.
My family and I just had dinner here. The food was good, but our service was horrendous. We were seated and then waited 20 minutes before we were even asked for drinks. We actually had to go back to the front to inform them we had not been helped yet. We were told that no one was informed we had been seated, so no one came to take our order. One of my family members ordered soup with their meals, and they gave her the wrong soup (there are only two soups on the menu). Once we had our food, staff began to clean tables around us. One of the staff members even began to ask us for the condiments on our table, like the parmesan cheese, which was incredibly rude. Again, the food was good, but the service made the experience an awkward and frustrating one. We would definitely go visit one of the other locations since we enjoyed the food, but not the Plainfield location.
This restaurant clearly does not read their reviews. The wood fired pizza much better than the oven but you have to request the wood fire oven. Too much ricotta cheeses on the pizza it's supposed to be a topping not the sauce. The side salad is the same size which comes with one if there gourmet meals. That's wrong.. The alacart.should be bigger than the meal salad. I keep hoping they will get it together. Talked to the owner and I am not sure if sure cares about the customers.
Great pasta and pizza. 100% recommended
The food is good, but always has slow service.
My first tine there! I had a good size catering order and the food was fantastic. I only wish I lived closer to Sal’s so it could be my regular place...
Amazing pizza with great service and hospitality
I just ordered Sal's pizza for the first time. My husband and I love their fettuccini but decided to try something different. I just hands down had the best pizza. We ordered stuffed pizza (sausage, pepperoni, and cheese). I would highly recommend
It's a lovely decorated restaurant with an old fashioned feeling. I love the wood fired oven, very pleasant. Having worked in an authentic Italian restaurant when i was young brings me back to when i used to make pizza with owner the real way. The only way. I saw that when i walked in. The pizza pie chefs were pressing the dough and hand tossing. It made me smile. It's also where i took my girl friend on our first date 3 years ago. Now it's been remodeled and very lovely. Now, i didn't enjoy seeing the microwave from the waiting area. I think the help is pleasant but seem a little uncomfortable at times. Loosen up guys. Enjoy your work we love the place.
Food was pretty good. Did not care for the minestrone so much. Penne was pretty good. Kids enjoyed their meals. There was only one employee for the entire dining room, and counter for call-ins. It isn't her fault so I still tipped her well for managing things the best she could, but the restaurant needs to have more help there as there were many tables waiting a long time.
